About Us

Yellow Chair Upholstery Inc. is an upholstery shop founded in 2018.

We provide custom upholstery services for residential clients in Southern Ontario, and have won multiple awards along the way. We are known for our quality, craftsmanship, attention to detail, and exceptional customer service.

Situated in Hamilton, Ontario, we take great pride in our commitment to our local community. And we are proud that our community is committed to us too, having voted us as the #1 upholstery and furniture restoration company in Hamilton for year after year.

William Almas

Founder, Lead Upholsterer

William is our founder and lead upholster. Trained at Sheridan College, he won a competitive apprenticeship opportunity.

He has a passion and talent for hand made excellence. That passion has driven him to pursue his love of upholstery, and with great success.

Furniture and community is in his blood, as William's grandfather founded Booth's Furniture and Interiors in the 1940's, located in Dundas, Ontario.

Katie Almas

Founder, Design & Operations

Katie is all about the details and her a strong business background keeps everything at Yellow Chair Upholstery running smoothly.

She is driven by creativity and her creative eye has helped many clients put together the perfect fabrics and finishes to bring custom visions to life.

She is a multi-award winning marketer by trade, having worked at companies like Disney, Hasbro, Carlsberg, Collective Arts, and currently with McMaster University.
